Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute

I will be attending the Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute from August 7-11, It will be a wonderful opportunity to develop resources to assist me in the application of my personal compositional skills to the Symphony Orchestra. There will be seminars by mentor composers, George Lewis, Anthony Davis, Anne LeBaron, Paul Chihara, Nicole Mitchell, James Newton, Alvin Singleton, and Derek Bermel……..Should be an enlightening week.

Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute (JCOI)

TheAmerican Composers Orchestra (ACO)andCenter for Jazz Studies at Columbia University (CJS), in cooperation with TheUCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, and EarShot, the National Orchestra Composition Discovery Network, will present the second JJazz Composers Orchestra Institute (JCOI)from August 7-11, 2012 at UCLA
The institute will provide 38 talented jazz and improvisational composers with the teaching and resources to explore how they can adapt their unique styles to a symphony orchestra.
The Institute culminates onSaturday, August 11, 2012 at 8pmwith a concert performed by wild Up at Schoenberg Hall at UCLA.
